Can I afford a lawyer?

So you think you don’t need a lawyer? You might want to reconsider.

You may say to yourself: but lawyers are soooo expensive, I can’t really afford that luxury – I’m trying to get a business going/growing. And I can get the stuff I need from Google, a contract is not a big deal.

The thing is that NOT having one can actually be more expensive in the long run; and after all don’t you want your business to be around in the long run?

I mean we understand, you are used to doing your own thing and so far, that has made you successful, you are probably thinking about launching that new app, protecting that world changing idea, you creations, starting company or expanding that startup. The thing is, and this is important, the more successful you become, the more you grow, the whole legal thing will become exponentially more complicated.

And this is not fear mongering, it’s just a fact. Maybe at the beginning all you needed was a one-page agreement that you got off the internet – but reviewing more complicated contracts or embarking on other endeavors with potential legal ramifications, without understanding what kind of new territory you are charting, can result in otherwise avoidable snafus. And that is where legal counsel steps in.

Having counsel can help you be more productive and efficient, do you really have the time to try and interpret the pages and pages of small print most contracts entail? Do you know how filling protocols work? Do you even want to learn to do those things? Or would you rather be laser focused on the important business or actually running your business? There are some categories of nitty gritty that need specialized training, and we understand you want to be hands on, but there are somethings you need to delegate to someone who is trained to handle those issues and that will work to make sure that your business is safe and prosperous.

A good attorney will help you navigate these situations, a great team (like the one here at C4C), will not only help you navigate these day to day situations while providing support, rich insight to avoid pitfalls, helping you maximize your revenue streams and grow your business. We are more than just lawyers; we are your partners.
